Montagne Imaginary vs Louis Vuitton Imagination: Comparison Review

Montagne Imaginary vs Louis Vuitton Imagination: Comparison Review

Differences

The notes for both Montagne Imaginary and Louis Vuitton Imagination are the same, but do they smell alike?

Scent and Performance:
The only difference is that Montagne Imaginary opens up sweeter than LV Imagination. It's pretty noticeable and at times can be headache-inducing. Imagination opens up fresh and clean straight to the point. Other than that once settled, the two fragrances are nearly indistinguishable to the average nose.

In terms of longevity, Montagne Imaginary lasts around 3 to 4 hours on skin, while LV Imagination (batch: 4L01) tends to perform a bit better, lasting 4 to 6 hours on skin and up to 8 hours on clothing. Not really a massive difference if we're being honest especially if we're comparing price points. Both are Eau de Parfum (EDP) concentrations as well.

Opening is 95% similar and dry down is 98% similar to LV Imagination.

Price:
Montagne Imaginary costs $50 for 50 mL ($1/mL) and Louis Vuitton Imagination costs $330 for 100 mL ($3.30/mL), which is a $2.30/mL difference, and if we're comparing strictly by price (not counting size) that would be a $280 difference excluding tax. While a fairer price comparison would be at the 100 mL mark for both fragrances, there is still an obvious price difference between the two. Montagne Imaginary is currently only offered in a 50 mL sized bottle at the time of review.

Physical Differences:
The liquid color is another distinguishing factor. Montagne Imaginary features a light yellow tint, while Louis Vuitton Imagination has a more light blue hue.

Final Verdict

Montagne Imaginary comes fairly close to Louis Vuitton Imagination. Aside from a sweeter opening, the scent profile is almost a match. At this price point, it’s hard to find fault — and honestly, you could wear it with confidence as a convincing alternative.
